About the competition

The Prague University of Economics and Business has thousands of students, graduates, and educators. Among them are successful athletes, dancers, musicians, comedians, and other promising and talented representatives of our university.

Our goal is to nurture and support their talent, which is why we have decided to organize another edition of the successful talent competition, Talent of VŠE. Through this talent competition, we allow young people to step into the spotlight, where they can showcase their uniqueness.

If there is such talent within you, do not hesitate to apply for Talent of VŠE. Show that economists are capable in other fields as well and demonstrate your talent in front of a full audience at Lucerna. You can compete for valuable prizes from our partners, and additionally, you will have a great opportunity to perform at significant events throughout the year.

The top 5 finalists from the final round, which will take place in the Vencovského Aula, will advance to the exhibition round held at Lucerna during the Representative Ball. There, the absolute winner of the competition will be announced, and prizes will be awarded.

Categories

Talent VŠE

Talent VŠE is a competition for all musicians, dancers, entertainers, and others who present their talent through live performances. The competition consists of 3 rounds – Casting, where finalists will be selected, the Finale, where the judges will decide who the winners are, and the Exhibition, where the top 5 contestants will be announced.

The casting round can be replaced with a video recording of your performance, which will be evaluated by the judges just like a live performance. Physical attendance is required for the other rounds.

PRIZES

All contestants who advance to the finale will receive a ticket to the Representative Ball of VŠE, which will take place on December 3, 2024, at Prague’s Lucerna.

The top five will also have the opportunity to perform at this ball and will receive a financial reward based on their placement:

Athlete of VŠE

FAQ

Who can participate in the competition?

All students, graduates, faculty, and staff of VŠE can participate. In the case of group performances, at least 50% of the members must meet this requirement.

Can I participate in the competition multiple times?

Yes, participants from previous years can also participate, regardless of their previous placements.

What kind of performance can I enter with?

The specific form of the performance or creation is entirely up to your imagination. For inspiration in the Talent Show category, you can use talent TV shows or performances from previous years, but remember that the originality of the performance is just as important as its quality.

How long should my performance be?

Your performance should not exceed 3 minutes. If shortening your performance is not possible, you can request an exception to this rule, but due to time constraints, not all such requests may be granted.

Are there any prohibited performances?

All performances must be safely executable within the indoor premises of VŠE, which excludes any performances involving open flames, chemicals, etc.

Do I need to prepare a new performance for each round of the Talent Show?

No, quite the opposite. The same performance must be presented in both rounds and, if applicable, during the exhibition at the Representative Ball.

What are the options for accompaniment during my performance?

Competition participants can bring their musical accompaniment to their performance, or anyone can accompany them musically or with additional choreography.
